Welcome to Presteigne Fire Station’s unofficial web Site.

The town which has a population of approximately 4000 is located in Powys and closely borders Herefordshire and Shropshire. The station not only covers Presteigne but also surrounding villages such as Gladestry, Whitton, Norton, New Radnor, and Lingen. As well as attending incidents such as House Fires, RTC’s chimney fires, hill fires etc, Presteigne station also operates a Co Responding scheme, assisting the ambulance service by attending life threatening conditions in advance of the Ambulance. The L4P appliance carries a medical bag including a defibrillator for use on incidents such as Cardiac arrest, strokes, head injuries etc.

Typically the station see 120 - 150 calls per year, approximately of those are 50 fires calls, and remainder are Co Responder calls
